So after seeing your post, I went to the Mac counter at Macy's to try some reds. I put a few on by myself and rushed for the tissue. Mac's Simply Red was simply horrible. Then the MAC artist came to my rescue. She said not to be afraid and that she would help me with the application. She reached for the very same red and I said, "uh uh." But, instead, she lip lined me with a berry color, simply redded me with a very different application technique - I swear it took like five minutes to put on the lipstick. (I take like five seconds to dab my lip color on, usually!) It took so long that I tried to pick up the hand mirror while she was at work but she told me to be patient.

Finally, the unveiling. It wasn't bad ... it was still quite bold, but she was definitely proud of her work and told me how great it complimented my skin and hot pink earrings (I do like color - just not usually on my lips). I wore it out of the store and felt very different. When I picked up my daughter, FIVE years old, even she was quite taken. "Red, mom? Really?" LOL. Maybe it was a bit too early for the red at 3pm, but it definitely caught a few eyes!

Thanks ladies!
