The Professor Divas are two friends with PhDs from the schools of fashion, fun and travel.   Neither of us ever thought that our heels would be clicking down the halls of academia (no schoolmarms allowed!)  Yet this fall we both went back to  school as professors!    We live in different cities and didn’t realize that our career paths were converging on different campuses.   This blog was born out of this discovery and our syllabi swapping and classroom icebreaker ideas.  And most importantly; that were we both wearing heels on the first day of school!

The Professor Divas

I’m a single, globetrotting southern belle.  My passport calls my name, of course it’s housed in a cute orange case.  The bright color makes it easy to find when I’m approaching customs.   One of my favorite things is to pick up interesting pieces from my travels.  It keeps my look original and is a great conversation starter. My current favs are the gold earrings I picked up in Split, Croatia this summer.   After years in the big city in the super charged news business, I’ve come home to the south to join the faculty at a small college.  Being a professor allows me to keep one stiletto in the media game while immersing myself in the academy.   It’s the best of both worlds and full of adventure! I’m glad to share it with my friend Professor Diva Cali and you!

What can I say, who knew that this diva would take on academia. When I roamed the campus of my alums, my goal was to 1) look cute and 2) look cute. In any event, my dear friend Professor Mac and I have decided to journey into “professorhood” while still keeping our sense of style in the classroom.  I teach all things speech, influencing my students to “speak into the mic.” With a media and events planning background, socializing is a part of my DNA. On any given day, you can catch me soaking in the beautiful sun rays as I am a Cali girl gone southern. I, too, love to travel which has taken me from the beaches of  St. John to the City of Lights (Paris).  I love all things “girly” and break for cute accessories–from boots to bangles–you will never catch me without an accessory.
