Blah, Blah, Blah to 2k10 Resolutions

Bah Humbug

With the year brand new, what will I proclaim this year and try to fulfill by 2k11? NOTHING.  Over the last couple of years, I have typed up a goal list in January and set out to complete it by December. This year, not the case. I guess at the end of 2009, my mindset was not there. I have a “To-Do List” every week (shout out to Toya!); this accounts for something…right?

In any event, resolutions are set every year by millions of people who want to accomplish certain goals by the end of the year. Well, here is a list of five resolutions that come to mind and this diva’s take on them.

1. Lose Weight-Yadda, yadda, yadda. This ends up on my list every year and I imagine tons of others. Obviously if it’s on my list every year, maybe it’s not going to happen. The better alternative may  be to eat healthier which will result in weight loss. Ding, ding, ding…BINGO!

2. Quit Smoking-Well this is a biggie and a huge accomplishment if you can do it. My hat goes off to those who have achieved this. For those who have not, keep trying; it adds years to your life.  By the way, I don’t smoke.

3. Get Out of Debt-Yeah, I know, we ALL want to live the fabulous debt free life. WHATEVER! No, but on a serious note, the best way to be debt free, in my mind, is to pay for everything in cash. I’ll be paying my student loans off until I’m about 100 years old.

4. Spend more time with the family-WOW! If this is on your list, it should be number one. This is so important and I cannot stress it enough. Perhaps, a game night is a good start. Also, plan a weekend outing once a month. Family is everything when there is nothing or no one else to turn to.

5. Find a mate-I just could not resist because I hear people talk about it ALL the time. Well, if you find a mate, make sure it’s the right one and take your time. Also, that person may be right in front of you so OPEN YOUR EYES. When you least expect it, this is when the stars align (lol) and love falls right into your lap. I know it’s corny, but true.  It happened to me and I’ve been married for a little over 3 years and going strong.

So basically after posting, now my mind is set and I need to get started on my goals. I have several mini-monthly goals to accomplish but the main goal is to redefine myself and take one day at a time. Like Matthew 6:24 states, “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Take it easy divas.

Smooches,

Professor Diva Cali

P.S.  I do not mean to offend with the photo and Lord forgive me as I was only trying to make a point. Over and out.
