The Queen City

Before I returned to the South I’d only been to Charlotte, NC  to board connecting flights.   Now Charlotte has become my chic getaway from the small college town where I teach.  Charlotte is a mixture of southern charm and sophistication. Its’ modern downtown has cool restaurants like Crave,   ( http://www.cravedessertbar.com/)  the dessert bar where I saw a fashion show that launched the Fashion Issue of a local publication, Tequila Magazine (http://tequilamag.com/ )

Charlotte Douglas International Airport (http://www.charmeck.org/Departments/Airport/home.htm) is a US Airways hub and has great deals perfect for Divascapes.     In  an hour and a half I can drive  from campus to cosmopolitan!    The city was named for Queen Charlotte of England when it was formed in the 1700s (The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Story: Mecklenburg People.)  Charlotte is still known as the Queen City.     Sounds like a perfect place for a diva to visit!

Air Kisses,

Professor Diva Mac
